Jay & Sukyung Chun
International Campus Staff in Tokyo, Japan (2025 – )
Jay and Sukyung have been serving as campus missionaries with SOON Movement Global (formerly KCCC) since 2011. They ministered to college students on campuses across Southern California and Illinois. From 2017 to 2022, they served in Kobe, Japan, continuing their work among Japanese college students. After taking academic sabbatical at Talbot Seminary for three years (2022-2025), they are returning to Japan to share Christ with students in Tokyo and discipling them to grow as followers of Jesus.
Japan remains the second largest unreached people group in the world, with only about 0.5% of the population identifying as evangelical Christians. Most Japanese people live their entire lives without ever meeting a Christian or hearing the gospel of Jesus.
Jay and Sukyung’s vision is to help fulfill the Great Commission by raising Christ-centered, missions-minded, multiplying disciples among the Japanese people. Their dream is that one day, the presence of foreign missionaries will no longer be necessary, because there will be a strong, indigenous Christian presence and churches throughout the nation.
Jay and Sukyung have been married for 11 years and are blessed with three beautiful children: Nathan, Noah, and Olivia.
